The proposed project aims to identify the urgent needs of technical knowledge and capacity in local governments in the Philippines, Indonesia, Nepal and Bangladesh, to undertake climate action that is inclusive and sustainable, and address these needs through a systematic capacity strengthening programme. The programme will include online and offline training events, peer exchanges and internships. The programme will aim to enhance the participation of women and marginalised groups in local governance by strengthening the capacity of professionals from these groups in local planning and decision making. The capacity strengthening tools and materials that will be used in the project will be instituted in national agencies or institutions to ensure that these can be used for future replication for other local governments who are not covered under the project.
