There is no doubt that the echoes of 2020 have become a strong call for 2021 to focus on a green recovery that promotes sustainable, environmentally responsible and socially inclusive urban development, pointing out that local and regional governments are the engines of this trajectory. Faced with this challenging context, ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability reinforces its support to local and regional governments in promoting solutions to urban challenges that are aligned with a vision of green recovery. In 2020, ICLEI completed 30 years of experience in developing methodologies to guide the path towards sustainable urban development at the local scale and now, more than ever, this work in line with the contexts and actors of the territory is essential.
