Project description

The Pan-Amazonian Cities Forum (FCPA) offers a lasting mechanism for strengthening decentralized regional cooperation, shedding light on regional initiatives for sustainability.

The main objectives of the initiative are:

  • Establish a platform for municipal governments, specifically through the Secretariats of Planning and Development; -Promote the exchange of knowledge, practices and models of sustainable development between subnational Amazonian governments and the subsequent dissemination of experiences at the regional level;
  • Establish a cooperation mechanism to position Amazonian cities as global references in sustainable urban development, in which managers collaborate mutually in the implementation of monitoring measures and efforts to implement the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Work Agenda – Priority areas:

  1. Bioeconomy and green jobs
  2. Cities that promote the sustainable use of the land, the reduction of deforestation and its relations with traditional peoples
